FAMIS Webcast
The FAMIS Child Health Insurance Program will publicly unveil its new online
application, allowing parents to apply for state sponsored health insurance
electronically, with a Web broadcast to partner organizations statewide. The
event, broadcasting live from from 9:00-11:30 am from the VCU Medical Center,
will include a demonstration of how the new e-application works and ways it
can be used in the community to facilitate the FAMIS application process. After
the webcast, REACH will hold a discussion on how we can use the new online
application to enhance access community-wide efforts to enroll and retain children
in FAMIS.

Association for Community Health Improvement
The Association for Community Health Improvement will present a free audio-conference
May 5 featuring a model developed by Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton,
MA, to extend access to care, and the hospital's innovative venture to get
business involved in supporting the uninsured. The hospital partnered with
a local "fair-trade" coffee roaster to create and sell a special
coffee blend that helps raise visibility and money for the uninsured, and links
people with the
health coverage and care they need. For more information or to register for

The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured (KCMU) will hold
a policy briefing on Monday, September 27 at 9:15 a.m. EDT to release
an analysis of the 2003 U.S. Census data and examine coverage trends
