National Legislation

• Citizens' Health Care Working Group
  As part of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003, the U.S. Congress created the Citizens' Health Care Working Group.  This group is developing an action plan for Congress and the President to consider as they work to make health care that works for all Americans.  They have already held public hearings and developed interim recommendations.

• Expanding Access to Quality Health Care for Working Families
  Bi-partisan legislation that hopes to improve access to health care for uninsured working families through association health plans (AHPS) that let small businesses join together to buy health insurance at a lower cost.

• Health08.org
  The Kaiser Family Foundation has launched health08.org , a Web site that will provide health policy analyses, polls and other information from the 2008 presidential campaign. The site includes links to candidates’ health positions and a calendar of election-related events.

• National Business Coalition on Health U.S. Capitol Resources
  Resources related to the monitoring of federal legislation related to health of interest to businesses and a collection of consensus policy papers representing the views of their membership.

• 2004 - 2005 Federal & State Legislative Landscape Report: A Health Care Reference Guide
  A project spearheaded by the National Business Coalition on Health in collaboration with the St. Louis Area Business Health Coalition. This document reviews major federal activities and documents state=-specific legislative activities related to health care that would have an impact on employers.
