Get Ready for an Exciting Semester

Dear MIS 412 Students:

            Welcome to MIS 412 class for the Fall 2007 class.  (This course has been offered since Fall 2003).

The course web site is up and running at:

Please do the following things before next class:

1. Install Visual Web Developer at your home computer or a computer that you have access to. There is no lab on campus support this tool other the Innovation room 317 where we have the class.   Download the software at 

• http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/aa700797.aspx or get it from CD that comes with your textbook.   You may also use Visual Studio .NET 2005 if you have access to it.    You may want to install SQL Server Express that may also come with your CD or see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/bb410792.aspx for downloading information.

2. Get a hosting account for ASP.NET 2.0.  The one we currently recommend is SOMEE and see detail instruction for setting up SOMEE hosting. 

3. Please set up your account, create a home page containing links to all you future assignments or class exercises (please include the Hello world exercise that we have done in the first class right away).   Send me the URL for your hosted page before next class. 

4. Read chapter H1-H8 for last night class for some background information. 

Be ready and we will have a joyful ride to learn about Web programming in the context of e-business systems development!
