Welcome to the Home Page for the study "Incorporating risk and  uncertainty into the policy choices for the National Forests: the Sierra Nevada Case Study," by Dr. Larry Walters (George Mason University), Dr. Peter Balint (George Mason University), Dr. Anand Desai (Ohio State University), and Dr. Ron Stewart (George Mason University). This study is being conducted for the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region to inform the decision-making process for a review of the Record of Decision for the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment.

This site contains information about the study, the principle investigators, processes and products, and links to sites related to the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment.  The Stakeholder Meetings link provides a Power Point presentation on risk and uncertainty that was provided to stakeholders at meetings on March 10 and 11, 2003.  This site also links to instructions and survey instruments on stakeholder preferences with respect to risk and uncertainty.  If you have been engaged in the Sierra Nevada Forest Plan Amendment and Framework process, we encourage you to review the Power Point presentation and take the survey questionaires.
